day 04 - your views on religion
I tried to think long & hard on this, but it’s a hard topic to condense. I’m agnostic, leaning more towards the atheist viewpoint than the believing standpoint, & doing more & more so each day. I understand why people need religion, & see the good it can do when followed properly. But I also see the bad & I am unable to let myself believe in an absolute truth. I guess this quote sums up how I feel on religion & life in general.
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. I am not afraid.”
